chasing shadows again

If not – please do not stop, do not pass go, and do not expect I will provide my number on the inside of a matchbook.

I will probably not blow up your car.

I will probably still not be safe for you to love.

{July 24, 2008}   ~hello to the cosmos~

The internets amuse me today.

It is difficult to be lonely today – I have notes from Molli and Ashish, I have e-mails from a gollum today, I have chatters with many peoples.

It has been requested that we have a saltwater fish tank behind the bar instead of a mirror – which meets my approval.  The plans for a restaurant are in discussion – themed menus are the good!  Especially with themes like mango, chocolate, and coffee.

The internet is full of things to share!

One thing comes from the extra-adorable bunnyZombieWalk!!!

Also, Peace Day (September 21) approaches!!!  Visit the site for Peace One Day to make a commitment that is tiny-sized to galaxy-sized and get banners, e-mail signatures, and things!!!  I think I may make a pair of jeans with glued on accents in fabric (like the koi pants) for Peace Day.  The peace signs will have to be fuzzy.  Fuzzy peace sign pants!!!  Okay…moving on…..

And the internet is also still full of chocolate!

A recipe for chocolate zombie fingers (decorated chocolate-covered pretzels) from Extreme Chocolate (yes, extreme chocolate!).

Also this site mentions the existance of chocolate beer! There is a link to recipies, but nowhere to order chocolate beers!  Sooooooo…I have found some places where one can find the chocolate beers!  Shenandoah Brewing Company does chocolate donut beers (Alexandria, VA) and you can brew your own beer, which sounds pretty cool.  Mountain Sun does chocolate beer (Boulder, CO – which is closer to someone’s tall, tall city than VA, though I’m still looking for chocolate beer in Denver – will has updates) and has a beer listing that makes me wish that I was a) in Colorado and b) liked beer at all.  I want to like raspberry beer dammit!  [Totally a tangent: BEER RECIPIES – note to self, make chili with beer!]  And…Desert Edge Brewery (Salt Lake City, UT) has chocolate beers.  If I missed anyone for chocolate beers, let me know, and I will try to find the chocolate beers just for you.

EDIT: Order Young’s Double Chocolate online – Australia only!

EDIT II: Young’s Double Chocolate online

EDIT III: Arcadia “Coco Loco” Triple Chocolate online

Read about places for chocolate tastings near where I will one day return from exile.

More things will come!  For now I posts this!

{June 4, 2008}   Flowers for ME!!!

Flowers Cryssy picked for me

So, today was the crazy at work, and I came home just in time to get an e-mail about flowers! They are not yet in my possession, but Cryssy is pressing them for me, and will make them into something and mail them to me!

Also–I date two ultra-awesome womens now! Cryssy has joined my legion of minions other lovers in slavery to my every whim absolute bliss.

We all know I love on the controversy – or at least the watching of it.

This time it isn’t religion, it’s a woman’s place in the home-particularly as involves greeting her husband.

Go visit Pedicures and Black Eyes to join in on the fun that is poking into things that will outrage many.  I plan to respond when my brain is not scrambled-for now I just point you in the direction of the madness.

And, to stir up more controversy, the image used as a basic for beginning the discussion of what a woman’s place in the home is today may be a hoax!  The great and all-knowing Wikipedia says so.  More on that also at above link.

Not of course, that I’m advocating drinking as the only appropriate response to a long day. Far from it – I am certain that kittens or ice cream sundaes could be passable alternatives. However, right now I would like friends in the same state as I am and a good bar again. There are many things I must do if I win the lottery – but in the event that that should occur I do believe that buying a bar and leaving it in the capable hands of Carlos-the-Jackal may need to happen. Perhaps we can open the post-apocalyptic zombie bar. This…this would be exciting.

Post-apocalyptic zombie bar suggestions, anyone?

Back with the chocolate and the playful!

Want to show off for your date? Start practicing these Floating Hearts with Raspberry Sauce now!

What about ice cream? White Chocolate-Rose Geranium perhaps? I’d be impressed. Need an ice cream maker? Check out MakeIceCream.com – from the rather sane additions to a kitchen like the Cuisinart ICE-30BC ($79.99-sale), to the quirky crank-handled White Mountain 4 Quart Manual Ice Cream Maker ($139.99), to the Musso Pola ice cream maker (generally reserved for those moments after winning the lottery or having a great night in Vegas at only $1,999.99).   You can also find recipes and trivia poking about this site. Having an ice cream maker might totally make the lack of easily findable lavender ice cream more bearable! I shall have to consider this thought once I settle down in a place (here in the land of loud birds I’d have to make the ice cream in the garage or something – tiny kitchen already full of delightful gadgets!).

Want to give desserts without the calories? This set of links is dedicated to the cute! Cake roll washcloths, chocolate cake towels, and cake wedge washcloths add extra fun to the slightly more predictable default calorie-free bathroom decor. The petit four lip balm set is darling overkill.

Making breakfast? Check out the heart egg mold.

{February 3, 2008}   Sunday Morning Coffee and Secrets

When I am 40, I want to be here.

Right now I am 27, and terrified I will not have children before I am 30.

I have no real home at moment (do not misinterpret, I am living in a house!) and I am slowly coming to terms with the knowledge that I will not stumble upon a place to belong and will instead have to build one.

{February 2, 2008}   Fox!!! Where did you go???

Everywhere.

Nowhere.

I went on a vacation that was bliss and anguish, I came home with no idea what my future was to find out within the week that my grandmother was dying, my grandmother died, and I still have no idea where my life is going.

Some people do rollercoasters. I don’t always understand those people. I’ve tried, but willingly subjecting myself to falling when I already feel that way so often seems crazy. There are people who find this fun.

Anyway, I’m obsessing over memory, reading old cookbooks, downloading The L Word (specifically Season Two, Episode 1), and trying to figure out what home will be. I’ve been reading Urban Tribes by Ethan Watters. I’ve been trying to figure out what to make of my life. I’m impatient and terrified and absolutely exhilarated because even if my life is chaos I’m in love!

I’ve been having a long-running internal monologue and I haven’t been sure if I should open it up to people, or how to open it up to people, or well…anything. And then I read this post by Molly and before I lose my nerve I’m going to post this. I am going to try to open this up-but offering anything of myself up honestly and openly is hard for me. Especially when I’m not holding a direct conversation. Even more so when I’m not yet sure what I think, and don’t know how to fight to defend it.

All of the things I’m thinking would make for a huge post. Sooooooo…I’m gonna try to take this one in stages. Tomorrow is Sunday-I’ll try to reestablish Postsecret and coffee.

And talk.

I must re-learn how to let people under my skin.

I think it’s time.

P.S. – For the people who leave me hugs on the sidebar-THANK YOU! As strange as it may make me, that always makes me smile.

{January 4, 2008}   Holiday Yummy Fuzzies!!!

I went shopping with Jayna yesterday. After a delightful mall food lunch (I’ll let her write about the horrific service I got, she does mad so much better than me), we went to Victoria’s Secret. I failed to find anything I had to have and was being freaked out by all the people (I’m used to sleepy ocean-side towns now) we went to Build-a-Bear where the woman who helped us watched with amusement as we juggled coffee and bears and did our low-key public dating thing (though I think we were figured out, because we got the ‘awwww’ face). We both made Champ bears for each other, because the Jayna is with the wanting to donate dollars (admittedly only four dollars were donated between our bears) to children’s causes-and they’re ultra-cute and ultra-soft AND there is corduroy on their paws! I totally slept with mine last night. Her name is Morgan (it’s a rum reference, I approve!). Then, on our way out we discovered Lush! (Molli – you click this one for Australia! Need a not USA, not Australia country – use this link!) It is the handmade deliciousness!

Anyway, shopping updates have links but no whining, so they are for the win. Trust me – links to fuzzy things and delicious things beats the ‘why is standing me up the new national pastime? I get that you have things but if this happens on a third day in a row I’ll be a crisis!’ post. At least I still have Morgan!

This is totally what you get for complaining when I don’t update Ashish – teddy bears and soap posts!

ALSO – there is totally a one day only community poem going up on Poets Who Blog!!! Please help celebrate the birthday of Poets Who Blog!!! Cake would also be appropriate!!!

{January 2, 2008}   And…this is why….

….I love PostSecret!
