{May 14, 2007}   Garden Update!

Plant Update
3/4 night blooming jasmine cuttings seem to be doing well (one died)
2 1/3 gardenia cuttings seem to be doing well (one two appear to be dying)
2/2 hibiscus cuttings seem to be doing well
1 pineapple top (replanted 4 times due to the puppy digging it up to parade it around the yard) seems to be doing well
1 seriously trimmed pepper plant seems to be doing well
4 cocoa plants, the lavender, and the peppers have yet to sprout
the peppers appear to be sprouting!
1 vanilla vine looks good (but no roots yet! where are the roots?)
many transplanted impatiens look good

Done Today
-transplanted impatiens to the lemongrass box, by the lava rock, and transplanted one into a dead banana tree hollow
-trimmed up the plants around the water tank and threw trimmings into a big pile over the fence
-weeded herb box
-watered in orchid house
-did not bonk puppy with a shovel once (it’s so tempting)
-did let the puppy play with the hose (which she loves like junkies love their fix)

To Do
-complete transplanting impatiens (more to banana grove?)
-clean hillside ring around the pool
-seed hillside ring around the pool with flowers
-clear out empty flower boxes of weeds
-feed banana grove and lemongrass box
-if no rain water plants tomorrow
-trim basil
-trim impatiens
-take more pictures

I want to grow strawberries for muffins!

We definitely need before and during and after photos! I’m living in your garden vicariously 🙂 I’m renting and, drought and minimal budget aside, the soil is too sandy to grow anything very well here 😦
